Description
Graball Bay is a stunning and distinguished Aran cable knit pattern which is suitable for both boys and girls. I have named this pattern after a beach just outside Crosshaven, Co Cork which holds many memories for people all around Cork and is still a very popular place today. On the pattern itself I have included memories from one particular family, the Mulcahy’s.
My Irish roots have inspired my love of the Aran style of knitting and I have introduced a modern twist to my creations. Experience is required to knit this pattern.
Size Guide: The pattern for a Hat and Jacket has instructions to fit 16″, 18″, 20″ and 22″ chest and the end product is larger as it is a jacket. By extending the length of the arms and body on the largest size, it would easily fit a 3/4 year old. Always measure the child prior to starting your project.
Wool & yarn recommendation…
I often get asked which wool I use and who my yarn supplier is! For this knit I have used Stylecraft Special Aran which I selected for its softness, it is very gentle on a baby’s skin. There are over 88 different shades available through LoveCrafts, who are my preferred yarn and wool supplier. (Spend over £25 to get free P&P and sign up their newsletter for 15% off your first order!)… I would also recommend Paintbox Aran for this pattern.

I really loved knitting this pattern. Was challenging with the two cable needles but love the finished result.

Graball Bay became one of my favourite knits after I had to do 4 in a row…it’s challenging as it involves 4 needles at one point ( 2 cable needles) but oh is it worth it, it look amazing finished, it’s such a complex pattern and looks stunning…The compliments for the knitted garments have all been 5 star and that’s all down to the fabulous pattern , it’s so unique. A real one-of-a-kind design.

Tricky wee cable but well worth it especially love that there are cables on the sleeves. Will definitely do it again.
