Jim Plunkett is an Aran set comprising of Shawl-neck Jumper and Hat.
My Irish roots have inspired my love of the Aran style of knitting and I have introduced a modern twist to my creations.
Size Guide: The pattern for a Hat and Jumper has instructions to fit 16″, 18″, 20″, 22″, 24″, 26″, 28″ and 30″ chest. Always measure the child prior to starting your project as all children are different.
Wool & yarn recommendation…
I often get asked which wool I use and who my yarn supplier is! For this knit I have used Stylecraft Special Aran which I selected for its softness, it is very gentle on a baby’s skin. There are over 88 different shades available through LoveCrafts, who are my preferred yarn and wool supplier. Jim plunkett is such a stylish knit, once I got into the way of the pattern, it grew quite quickly. As always a well explained pattern. I think definitely one for an experienced/ intermediate knitter with a knowledge of cables. I had a sense of such achievement when I finished it.

A brilliant pattern cable looks fabulous. Did have to use pen and paper to get cabling right but Donna’s pattern writing style is so easy to follow. I changed the collar slightly as did first size and didn’t want shawl collar.
