These 2 styles of hat is a pattern I have pulled together for a charity close to my heart – The International Orphanage Development Programme (IODP) and every penny from this pattern will be contributed to it. 

Many of the children who are supported by the IODP have suffered from the genetic impact of Chernobyl and too many have learning/mental disabilities. 

This pattern is named after SteveyJ – an inspirational man who has done so much to help me.

These are a chunky knit hat to fit baby – adult and I always believe rainbows offer hope hence why I have knitted it in the rainbow colours.  It can be done in any colour combo, even your favourite team or just one shade and there are 2 styles – teabag and traditional.  You can add embellishments to your hearts content and ideal for a beginner.

My Irish roots have inspired my love of knitting and I have introduced a modern twist to my creations.  This pattern and it is suitable for anyone but sometimes a man will go without the pompom or a smaller one. The pattern has instructions to fit birth to adult and can be adjusted as necessary. It has been scaled on a larger size.

I have used Stylecraft Special Chunky for its softness and it is very gentle on a baby’s skin. I would also recommend Paintbox Chunky.
