Description
Mammy’s Love was such a popular pattern – and after numerous requests – I have designed another knit incorporating the heart cable. This is a beautiful stitch and so lovely watching it evolve.
This one is called “Nanna”, again after my sweet mum. All her grandchildren call her ‘Nanna’ as she felt too young to be called Granny. My mammy reached her 80th birthday last year (2019) and she has Alzheimers. This illness is heartbreaking, the person who named it “the longest goodbye” got it spot on. But it is such a joy when my real mum shines through!
Luckily I have her at home and although it can be exhausting both mentally and spiritually, she is good as gold and I adore her and I am grateful to have this time to spend with her. A portion of profit from this pattern will be donated to Alzheimers research. Sending love and support to all the carer’s out there, and prayers and love to all those suffering with this horrible disease.
My Irish roots have inspired my love of the Aran style of knitting and I have introduced a modern twist to my creations. Some experience is required to knit this beautiful pattern and it is suitable for a boy or girl.
Size Guide: The pattern for a Hat and Jacket has instructions to fit 16″, 18″, 20″ and 22″ chest and the end product is larger as it is a jacket. By extending the length of the arms and body on the largest size, it would easily fit a 3 year old.
