Description
I have only visited Kilkenny a few times when my son was working in Ireland and had an apartment there. I was really impressed with how clean it was and the quirky little shops. It was like another era and I had a great time shopping in the little boutiques. The buildings were fascinating and there was a beautiful park we had a stroll through. Kilkenny is a very busy little town but the people were so friendly and courteous. I intend to go back and spend some quality time there and have a real good look around as I didn’t see enough of it.
My Irish roots have inspired my love of the Aran style of knitting and I have introduced a modern twist to my creations. Some experience is required to knit this beautiful pattern and it is suitable for either a boy or girl. The pattern for a Hat and Jacket has instructions to to fit 16″, 18″, 20″ and 22″ chest and the end product is larger as it is a jacket. By extending the length of the arms and the body on the largest size, it would easily fit a 3 year old.
Yarn used was Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran, which you can find at LoveCrafts – I’d recommend it for its softness; it is very gentle on a baby’s skin! I would also recommend Stylecraft Special Aran to knit with this pattern.
