I would consider this pattern fairly simple and straight forward and looks amazing in any colour of yarn.

The pattern contains instructions for a Jacket and Traditional Hat to fit 16″, 18″, 20″ and 22″ chest and the end product is larger as it is a jacket.  By extending the length of the arms and body on the largest size, it would easily fit a 3 year old.  This pattern is ideal for a beginner who wishes to try something a bit more challenging in a knitted set.
